Flaky, unreliable internet through USB port?

Does using an ethernet card give you faster internet speeds than a USB port?
Does internet connection get broken or flaky when we use a USB port?

Answer: NO.

I've been using internet connection through the modem - USB port for more than a year and I'm getting excellent connectivity and speeds of 50-230kbps for my 250kbps connection.

So why is everyone in support of ethernet cards?
Well, internet providers outsource their internet connection work to people who sometimes have their private franchisee of computer hardware. For every house they install an internet connection (this is about two to three houses a day), if they can sell the people an ethernet card worth Rs.250, imagine how much they'd make in a month! A well spread rumour always works in their favour.

Homemakers who don't know much about technology, readily agree to the ethernet card because these business savvy people can always fake a non-connection story. The USB port address is 192.168.1.2 while the usual ethernet port address is 192.168.1.1.

Beware of these "technical experts" who spread incorrect information which would convince any non-tech-savvy victim. They can easily invent excuses about spyware problems, wireless communication not passing through walls (ROFL!!) etc.
