Prayer meeting = tasty food?

Was witness to an amusing conversation between two children. This post is a result of a curious journey into the what's and why's of that conversation during the social gathering.

Kids find prayer meetings boring! Time they could've spent completing the flight simulator mission they had nearly won, now goes in a long prayer and looking up at towering adults chatting.
"Mom...can we go home now...?"

The "can we go home" yearning quickly dies out the moment the compensation for the waiting comes in the form of delicious cakes, plantains, vadas, samosas and juice! Yum!
As these kids grow up, they wonder if the sole purpose of these prayer meetings were the food :)

Dear parents, whether your kids ask you or not about the purpose of such social gatherings, please do tell them about it. And do tell them that the food isn't there to attract people, but when a person invites people to their home, it is their duty as a host to provide them refreshments.
